THE CHALLENGE
Verifying Foundation Integrity for Critical Waterfront Infrastructure
The new Liberty State Park Ferry & Emergency Evacuation Terminal will replace aging ferry infrastructure with a modern waterfront facility serving more than 4 million annual visitors while enhancing regional emergency response capabilities. FTG provided Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL) testing to verify the integrity of the drilled shaft foundations supporting this critical infrastructure.
Supporting construction of a new ferry and emergency evacuation terminal required verification of drilled shaft integrity in a demanding marine environment. Because the facility is designed to support both daily ferry operations and emergency evacuation activities, the project team needed reliable foundation testing data to verify structural quality and keep construction moving forward.
Marine Environment: Active waterfront construction conditions.
Critical Infrastructure: Ferry and emergency evacuation facility.
Foundation Integrity: Drilled shaft integrity verification.
Construction Coordination: Multi-phase testing support.
