Drone Services

Potential uses include bridges, cell towers, high mast lighting, wind turbines, power lines, building facades and roofing, survey and mapping, construction monitoring, wetland and environmental, drainage and erosion, traffic monitoring and emergency services.

Drone services are gaining the engineer and geologist new perspective to their site reconnaissance and investigations.

Our certified and licensed drone pilots can quickly survey a site for geologic or structural features or provide a bird’s eye perspective of existing structural damage. These beyond the line-of site options make it possible to preview a site for access, such as drilling test borings, for noting site conditions, topography and for existing conditions survey. On environmental site assessment projects, drones are used to look for signs of dumping in in-accessible areas such a woods or heavy brush and review large swaths of land both quickly and safely.

Potential Benefits  from Drone use include reduced time on -site, reduced coordination with owners, Geo-Referenced Imagery,  no equipment rental, Increased safety, no need for fall protection in high risk environments like towers and bridges, and as mentioned they can reduce accessibility concerns.

Potential uses include bridges, cell towers, high mast lighting, wind turbines, power lines, building facades and roofing, survey and mapping, construction monitoring, wetland and environmental, drainage and erosion, traffic monitoring and emergency services.

FTG is developing our usage of drones to enhance the accuracy of our field services and to determine site characteristics that may be missed by ground recognizance. Drones are another tool in our engineer’s toolbox!
