FTG deep foundation testing experts were on site in Bronx, NY teaming with Civetta Cousins JV to perform static compression load testing of micropile foundations for a new residential building.
The two micropiles being tested were designed at a higher capacity than typically allowable by NYC Building Code's guidelines, so maintained cyclic tests were required (performed per ASTM D1143 Procedure G and NYC Building Code).
Each compression load test ran continuously for 70 hours, so Specialty Testing Technicians, Jack Rogness and Joe Teta of Team FTG worked 24/7 to monitor the deflection of the two load tested piles.
During testing, the piles exceeded the required loads, making the load test program designed by Ancora Engineering a success.
