Drilled shaft installation has just begun for the retaining walls for the I-95 Express Lane Expansion.
FTG is working with Hillis-Carnes Engineering, General Contractor Allan Myers and foundation contractor Clearwater Construction to implement inspection of the drilled shaft program that satisfies the specified structural demands of retaining wall foundations. FTG is on site to verify that the shafts are drilled to the proper depths to meet the structural requirements as well as to confirm that the shafts are drilled through suitable rock. Our team will also be performing the Cross Hole Sonic Logging (CSL) Tests on select shafts to ensure proper placement of concrete and verify the integrity of the drilled shafts. Communication is key to a successful project and FTG prides ourselves on our effective and prompt communication with the crews in the field.
FTG has a widespread expertise in deep foundation design, testing & inspection that includes drilled shafts in dry or wet conditions.
In addition to in-person installation inspections, FTG performs load testing, non-destructive shaft integrity testing, and downhole camera inspection including our Shaft Inspection Device (SID).
